The Buddha's teachings, known as Dhamma, have journeyed across cultures and continents, transforming hearts and communities for over two millennia. Now, these timeless teachings have arrived in Cuba, where they are embraced by a vibrant and growing community.

Our mission, led by Ayya Mārajinā, a Cuban-American Theravada bhikkhunī of Bhava Nirodha Nilaya near Gainesville, Florida, is dedicated to nurturing and supporting this growing community. We provide a central hub of information about local events, teachings, and retreats for practitioners across Cuba, while also serving as a bridge for international friends eager to learn and support the growth of Theravada Buddhism on the island.

Currently, our primary goal is securing a permanent home that will serve as a stable gathering place for the community, facilitating longer stays for Ayyā and her monastic brothers and sisters, deeper practice, and regular meditation sessions and uposatha gatherings.

We believe the Dhamma thrives best through connection, generosity, and mutual support. Whether you're in Cuba or abroad, your involvement and contributions help sustain and strengthen this spiritual community.
